A Brief History

This project began on my personal Instagram in 2019 as a way to shine a light on Black Women working in the music industry. In 2020 the project evolved to short form profiles of Black Women working in the music industry across a variety of professional functions.It is important to me to help tell the stories of so many women that I know doing the work, everyday within the music industry. From professional membership organizations to A&R to marketing to performance. The breadth of representation of Black Women in the music industry is vast and varied. It is my hope that through this project the work of the women featured inspires you and your work — in whatever industry that may be.
